Due to some unforeseen and unavoidable developments, I won’t be able to perform this Friday in Seattle. The rest of the show will be going on as scheduled. I’m very sorry to anyone who hoped to see us play this week. I’m going to a post a video of a new song in an attempt to make up for it (and since most of you guys are from the east coast anyways). If you planned to attend, please still go and support some great local music.

I attended the sold out Honda Civic Tour this weekend in Seattle at the gorgeous Paramount Theatre. I was lucky enough to see the tour while I was in Chicago recently, as well. I’ve been chummy with the Panic boys and Hush Sounders for some time now so it was great to see all of them. Also, as you maybe know, I love Phantom Planet. And boy can they put on a show. I even got to talk with Alex about Donnie Darko 2 and how Self-Titled is their Pinkerton. He was quite nice. And seemingly very talented at Wii.
The Hushers rocked it as always. Bob, you still owe me a serenade session. I want “Out Through The Curtain”. I’ve always loved the “place all your bets and watch me lose” line.
When I saw the tour in Chicago, I ended up missing Panic play “Behind The Sea”, which is one of my favorite songs off Pretty. Odd. Spencer was nice enough to dedicate Saturday’s rendition to me. Love that guy. I concluded my night on Panic’s bus, playing sing-a-long with Brendon and Greta. Brendon can play any song you can name. Including “Cumbersome”. Then we played the last level of Portal just to get to hear the credits song. Anyone else obsessed with it?
What a night.

This will be amazing.
And so will the new Hulk. The intertubes have been boiling lately with inevitable hatred for the new green guy but I still have faith. And it’s begun to garner some great reviews (like “just as good as Iron Man”. Yeah, I said. Or quoted it, anyway).

At least once a day, I make sure to take the time to sit down and listen to a song with headphones on; and with complete focus. I don’t use the song to invoke thoughts about me or my life. I hone in on the song and all its beautiful details. I listen for things I’ve never heard before. I close my eyes and let it take me with it. So I decided to start posting a song once a week to share with you guys. Go grab your headphones. Close your eyes. And for four minutes or so, really listen.
This week, I bring you “This Woman’s Work” by Kate Bush. Enjoy!
SIDE NOTE: Do you guys think I should post more regularly on the blog? Like once a day rather than once a week? Let me know!
